The C2C could be the bothy/overnighter? Though numberswise a few could be on the cards, would you say the numbers you had was perfect?

You talking the Big C2C? I thought Dingwall - Ullapool was do-able in a day, then back the next after 'refuelling' in Ullapool.

Nah the idea was an overnighter in Ullapool, we have to drive up and its a few hundred miles each way. The idea was a relaxed sojourn through the countryside with a nice meal and a wee dram at night.

Is anyone holding distant thoughts of going to OWMTB next year in Marin? I've priced flights - got permission from the wife as long as I save for it separately to our normal holiday fund :)

I can go, but it needs to be in the school holidays and make it a family trip.

That is an alternative I have too, and one my wife likes, but I'm still paying for our Florida trip last xmas and I think we will be buying a new car next year.

Aye my car plans may be shelved or at least downgraded. This would be a dream west coast tour, besides I only need a car for chuckin bikes in :)

Weirdly I will not go to Marin County for a few years yet because I do not and have never had a credit card. Apparently in the USA if you do not have a credit card your are a non person or mexican

I'd need to build up a reputable credit card history which at the moment I do not wish to do as keeping on top of my cash is tough enough. I'll stick to the worlds of hard cash.

Backward to the end me

i have no debt ,no credit card ,and hence no credit rating
stick america up yer arse ,to quote jimmy pursey (sham 69)

Velo, get a card, make a purchase, pay it off immediately then cut up card - through the chip - then put in drawer and do not use it online. When you want to go to america phone card company and say your card broke. You'll get a new one sent out. You'll also have a small but good credit card rating.

I'd just like to say that there are some really sound guys on this site
besides you bunch of degenerates. Tonight another site member who
doesn't know me from Adam has shown the most incredible level of
trust and patience that I'm lost for words

Don't bother askin who he is, I'll save him the blushes.

Am fillin up

Here's a thing, once you get a MacRetro banner you are a Macretro rider and the whole dirt disciple/retro guru hierarchy stops.

Does this mean we no longer rank within Retrobike or is MacRetro the pinnacle that all lesser folk aspire too :D

....and stop yer bubbling RobMac, yer spoiling the Scots hardman stereotype with the shandy drinking southern behaviour

Mind you I'd buy a pint of shandy for some of the brilliant folk that reside on here ;)
