That could be down to two things...

1, you have never had a good one. Cars that just get you from A to B are just like BSOs and WDS. If it's all you know.....

2, You are not very good at driving. You can have ten times more fun in a good car than on any bike if you know what you are doing.

How about going on one of those Driving Experience days and have some time hooning about in a Ferrari around a track. If you come back and can honestly say cars are shite I will refund your money.

;)

I have done that kind of thing at knockhill and it was a thrill but just not really my bag darling. I sort of like green ones aswell.

Anyhoo....

Kaiser, you asked why Big Dirty Weekend won't be in Yarkshire in 2011.

It was always our intention to make BDW a big flagship event. The plan was first mooted in 2007. We were going to run in 2008 but the ownership of the pub/ campsite changed 10 days before the inaugural event and we had to pull the plug.

We decided that we would run it in Yorkshire for the first few years to get the format right and then move it on elsewhere once we had a handle on it. The Area Groups System came in part from this idea- apart from MacRetro there wasn't anyone putting on regular organised rides and it would only work with a proper organised framework.

So the Area Groups are now beginning to bear fruit with a good network of AECs and Deputies (if not always great turnouts) and we now think it's time to pass it on.

The benefits of the rotation system is that it keeps fresh- different terrain, different locations, new people all prevent it from getting stale. Hopefully we will pick up regulars who will travel wherever it goes.

Myself and Gil will still be involved with the logistics and promotion next year but will leave the location and routes up to that areas AEC and Dep- making the most of local knowledge. Taking on a big event can be daunting, so the continued involvement of Gil and Me should make it easier.

We have already decided which area group takes over next year and will make an announcement at this years event. We will then also begin the process of deciding who gets it in 2012. This gives the lucky/unlucky Area plenty of warning.

It's early days for BDW but eventually we would like it to become one of the biggest and best events on the old bike scene.

Si

Great idea :D I reckon what the site needs is one big premier event and this would be ideal. The promotion you've put in has definitely pushed it up the tree and I wish I was coming this year. Will wait for next years venue with baited breath :)

just a suggestion but could any future event have fit female strippers, I know me and ZZ would make an extra special effort to come if that was on the cards- happy with just topless but full monty would be even better.
