Anyone fancy a wee evening ride? Was thinkin a few hours local once a week. Mibee up the Burrel or out a Gazz's?
Aye, that'd be good. I'll give myself another week off the bike, but that'd work out well going straight from work.

me to! but monday and thursday are late nights so no can do on these days, I can give you back your easy out ZZ, was not that easy ha ha so still stuck with ma buggered salsa stem

anyone got a fork pump or would my lbs do it for nowt?

Wednesdays would be good. Quite fancy making it a regular thing but staying localish(Misty law, The burrel, Gazz's, dundonald)

Out on the road bike today, 60 miles I felt strong and not
looking like a burst ball when I got back. Cloudy and
no wind adds up to a good average speed :)

What time do you have in mind?

Right, done some more thinking as regard the Big October Clan Gathering at Glentress.

What about giving it a theme, as the Tress is also referred to as GT by us lot why not make it a GT meet. For those without a GT a suggestion of bikes from one of the other big Californian brands such as Specialized, Marin, Canondale, Scott and finally anything from North America. Riders of Niche exotica might not want to suffer stone chips to their precious steeds which is not uncommon at the tress.

So tell me what you think of this, then I'll prep a Rides and Meets advert ;)

The Big MacRetro Clan Gathering
Glentress, October 23rd - 24th
Event themed for GT bikes or other big Californian branded bikes
Rides:
Saturday morning ascent of the Black route to the radio mast, descent of the full red back to the hub cafe.
Saturday afternoon ascent of the Red route, descent of stage one of the Red then full Blue descent. Included will be a visit to the free ride area and the Boom or Bust section of old school 'secret' single track.
Day one ends and we retire to Peebles and wherever we are staying. Meet up in evening for a meal and drinkies.
Sunday morning head to Innerleithen for a full circuit of the Red route.
Event then over and we all head home.

Another wee thought, all of us MacRetro clansmen should have a meet at Gt prior to the event to ensure everyone who'll be there in October is familiar with all sections of the tress they may not have ridden before. We dont want any guests getting lost.

Only ZZ, DaveDH and I are regular riders of the Black route for example and not everyone has ridden Boom or bust ;)
