Do it over 3 days so there is no chance of paint leak between the different colours. So do your red strokes one day, Yellow the next and then leave green until last. Looks pretty simple to do as part of the look is that it is meant to resemble brush strokes.

yeah top advice, it will be getting the paint matches and the thickness right that will be a biatch.

Might be worth trying a model shop as it would be pretty easy to get the thickness and texture correct using enamel paint. Well worth experimenting with different brush types as well. One with thicker bristles would probably help the texture. A good quality fine brush may make it too smooth looking.

do the yellow first to keep it neat, always do the light colour under the darker colours if you want a clean edge.

Suggestions required guys and it concerns modern stuff

Recent visit to GT has pursuaded me that a long travel forked hardtail might be more me than the iDrive. Thus stripping the idrive of its forks and other componentry would allow a build onto a new frame, but what frame, I am prepared to save up as my bike building mojo has dulled at the mo so hitting trails on new machine can wait untill spring.

On-One 456 is an obvious cheap choice but what else is there. Any anecdotal info on handling, plus/negative points etc is useful. I rather like Pace's offerings but they are no cheap.

So please suggest away and yes Mikee a GT hardtail will not be dismissed out of hand as long as its modern and will take a 140mm travel fork ;)
