ZZ I meant to say at Ordie after your wheel slipped, I've always found shimano steel skewers to work the best. New or old. disnae matter, had the same problem myself.
Funnily, enough, it's a boggo Shimano pair that I've got fitted to it. Part of the problem is that the chain's a bit baggy to begin with, so it's pretty unforgiving of any slip at all. I'm going to try going down to a 17t cog (instead of 18t) and see if I can't lose the half-link - hopefully that should tighten things up.
Here you lot of West Coasters, did you know Cathkins Brae country park is going to get a permanent new mtb trail to be used in the 2014 commonwealth games.
That should be way better than Pollock Park one can only hope
ment to be some descent trails there already but I've heard tale that the locals can get a bit frisky so not that comfortable going up there for now (airifles and devil dugs)- mind you would be use to that stuff in the 'burgh I suppose
They've got some stuff planned for Falkirk this year as well - funding is in place so there's a good chance it might become reality - From what I've read I don't think it'll be all that hard core though:
I've ridden some of the trials they've marked as new - these are existing walkers paths which I'm assuming at some point are going to get a bit of upgrading work done to them. I'm going to take this map out with me at some point over the next few weeks and see if the other 'new' trails already exist.
Ah, the Coeburn Link. If we had gone 20 yds further to the left we would have found the correct route. But its all character building stuff none the less!!
Loving the increased number of folk on this sub forum, hope all Saturdays new riders are getting theirs
Anyone else for Pollock Park mtb circuit this Saturday from 11am with Jimi and me. Meet at carpark outside Burrell collection then get a few laps in and of course loads of pointless banter
Easy to get to if you'd like the train to take the strain if coming from the east.
Happy to guide from the station in Glasgow the couple of miles to Pollock Park.
