Definitely. The SS actually looks better, cracking shade of blue. I thought about getting this instead, but I've got enough rigid SS bikes now...

I finished the Rockhopper today, so I'm thinking that'll cancel the Mary out and I'll remain 'retro neutral'.

Nah, only the SS get's the Mary's. The XC comes with the Salsa Pro Moto flat bars.

thats purty ZZ, whats the rest of the spec like? Whats it made out of too?

Spec's alright. Double-butted 4130, Reba SL, Salsa stem/bars, Ritchey Pro seatpost, WTB Rocket V saddle, Laserdiscs/Kenda Nevegal Sticky 2.2s, Sram X.9 (Deore front der though), Truvativ FireX crankset.

Don't like the SRAM shifters - maybe I'm just used to Shimano... Rear der looks a bit cheap/nasty too. May have to go with the big S. Also no QR for the seatpost clamp :?

aye i'd noticed the sram shifters were weird going down the gears :? not for me ......
