Belated Happy New Year

A belated Happy New Year macretro clan!
A warm welcome to Robmac, I'll meet up with you at Dunkeld later this month. A nice selection of bikes you have too.
I have been looking at a LHT for a while, but they have been out of stock for frames in my size for a couple of months but in march Surly are bringing out a black one so will wait for that I think rather than the blue.
Velo, I have just this now got my invite through for the SS Euro champs in april, so it looks like I will be joining you and Ed, should be a great weekend like last years SSUK. Is anybody else coming from the macretro clan?
I will be updating my singlespeed beforehand, I have several brainwaves lately ranging from a new 2010 Stumpjumper SS 29'er that Specialized are yet to get back to me about being able to supply, getting trackends and a cable stop put onto the current 94 Stumpie frame and then repainted or a Surly 1x1 frame and transfer all my stuff across.
The 1x1 is probably the most realistic and excites me the most and fits the finances as the new Stumpy I would have to pay off over time. The money I had put aside for the above mentioned LHT would just go towards the 1x1. I also thought about a Pugsley but it worked out damn expensive by the time I got discs and built up the large marge rims and shod with tyres.
The singlespeed is easily the most used of my stable lately, love it.
Looking forward very much to Dunkeld and catching up with everyone.
Take care all
Jamie

Happy new year yer hairy bawbags. I'm another that's going to take the plunge and take the bike test this year. The lure of a classic 60's Triumph Scrambler has become too much over the last year.

Had a pretty miserable xmas down here as the whole family has fallen ill with swine flu over the last ten days. I still feel like shit but at least managed to do a little on the bikes today- few Tweeks and pad changes on the moderns and stripped the AMP forks for the SAB. Ordered the last few bits for the Fat Ti and will make a start on painting the forks next week: that will be the Ti finished and ready for outing.

Hope you all had a good Christmas guys and wishing you all the very best in dry singletrackfor 2010!

Si
