MacRetro chat and rides thread

Glad yor back 'The Ken' now we can start herding these cats in a pincer movement.......as if

All we got to do is pull off one big organised event in 2010 other than that its business as usual. As for big event, just one days organised riding and bike tomfoolery with a sesh in the pub to hand out prizes for winning any events we host should be sufficient. I reckon we can all pull together for just that without too much stress as afterall SSUK09 at Dalby although much bigger was only really of that time duration and everyone had a great time. We'll thrash out some stuff over beer and nachos in the weej on the 5th :D

Gazz I reckon you should get a mod to change your name to YoGazzi, now the clockies off. I take it you won't be getting buried with tit then
:D Preferable to FatGazz... Is this going to be another frame you regret selling? And there'll be no Christmas day clockwork rideout either

nah clockwork was my first bike love thang so happy with my moniker just got some fat fever

As your handsome neighbours I should think there will be a good turnout from the NE&Yorks squadron for your big event. Just make sure its not in July as I will be in France and Italy for the most part. Looking forward to it though- always happy days with the Clansmen

Velo and Ken, can you pop over to the secret place and add your contact details to the sticky list??

Ta

Folks, from my visit to the secret place on here I see that a battle royal is taking place to slot in dates for rides and big events, july/august seem the worst.

I know we are thinking SSEC in April and SSUK in August.

Would you guys have any date issues if we tried to put our one and only heavily promoted ride in say May :?

Hopefully this would keep us away from the chaos but still have a reasonable weather window.

I cannot ride rough shod over your thoughts, as dictator I am not, so please some input on when we can entertain the masses :D

Plus remember its me whose mainly got the organisation headache so be calm and positive ;)

 I think you should still bounce a few ideas around in here though, furinstance I think the downhill idea was excellent. Timed runs down inners or GT would maybe pull a few folks. You need a catchy name as well. And if including the downhill bit make it the Official Retrobike downhill championship.

I realise theres a lot of You's in there but I reckon you should preside over this.

The 10 under the Ben thing is in May. What about around the time of the first Macretro meet or was that in the busy period?

Another things come up, we got anyone with basic first aid skills or are we going to need to get someone trainned :?:

To what extent, I'm trained but its lapsed.

Regarding this there was alot of talk in the past about liability for 'organised events' such as these.

Just a thought on the Bothy rides you guys... Just because you have found a large bothy don't have too big a group, Bothy decorum is to keep the numbers around 5-6 in a group. Could you imagine slogging miles over the hills, soaking wet with kit to find the bothy full with hairy MacRetro bikers and no room at the Inn?? It won't do the biker vs walker relations any good.

Si

Too true, i was giving an indication of total capacity though more in confirmation there should be room for RB attendees plus normal folk. Some of these places are affy wee - this one's a decent size with 2 fires.

Always chancy with boffys as they aren't bookable so an element of risk, although knowing location and depending on time of year, things should work out ok. This one isn't in that popular an area so should be ok, unless we go over xmas/new year - which is unlikely. ;)

Now there's an idea

Still smarting from the BAT by the way
