Alternatively maybe we could join you at the Drum if ZZ happy to go again :D
Velo, let's stick with GT for Sunday - I'm quite looking forward to it now, I don't think I've been down since before Kielder :? Also looking forward to trying it rigid (on the Hardrock). my confidence is up after a (relatively for me anyway) crashfree Drum, and no slope is too steep with my 32/18 ratio.

Having said that, I do want to get back to the Drum, and it'd be nice to fit something in before the end of the year...

I'll check the work rota and get back to you kaiser.

got a quote for a frame blast and powdercoat from that mob in killie, albeit I could hear him thinking WTF to charge, which was not inspiring- £70 does this seem a lot for just a frame? What were the others you found?

I was £40 fro the stumpy down at carrick engineering. I was going to try 2 others, I'll try to dig them out bcause I'd mentioned to ZZ as well. At £70 I think their pushing their luck.

This was the one in Glasgow

mainly because they do wheel and bike work. Probably a higher standard than most, furinstance the Killie one is doing from what I can tell train running gear, wee bit industrial. These guys will be used to requests for peculiar finishes or high standards

IIRC I found them googling but recommended in a forum if you know what I mean.

spoke to the fella, was very comfortable about doing a frame, dip, blast and coat for £40 3-5 day turn about, he also said that they would mask all threads I didn't need to do owt

WTF do they mean by dipping it? Is it the same thing as with sheep

Cool, what finish are you going for?

can you describe your method of 'dippin a sheep' please? Just the basics.

matt black was about as technical as I got

get sheep, shove it in a bath, give it a towel, jobs a good un- how do you do it?

Sheep dips out of fashion these days, now they want shampoo and set, funky music and cups of coffee, bloody sheep

ZZ, GT is go but I'm going geared, I was on 32:18 at Thrunton and it killed me, your too fit

Remember we're going track hunting so we may spend some time getting lost and disapointed but the known bits are great fun

I'll get back to the Drum some other time but not midweek unfortunately.
