Hogmanay ride,

No idea, thought maybe my bit but with Gaz's quick response in favour of a trail centre I've ditched that idea.

Only two trail centres have facilities which include cafe, showers, bikewash and bike shop that is reasonably central. Thus the choice is Glentress or Drumlanrig although as the Drum is a private estate I need to determine if its fully open.

Drums a bit of a bugger for us east coasters in that I'm Scooter limited and Big Ecks not allowed to drive so we would need to twist car owners arms from over here, could be done though i'm sure.

Please decide a venue from the two and a date that suits between 27th-30th.

On another point does anyone have a solution to my canti hanger issues with the vega. I was going black lx all the way but went for some 99 bombers as this will be a rider. Now I can't figure out how to keep the cantis as I can't fit a hanger on the aheadset? Does it matter now that I've fecked it all up with the bombers so just put v's on and be done? I hate old bikes :evil:

Can you no slap one of these on? It's got a wee clamp, so should stay put.

Never considered the weather, might be best to have 2 or 3 venues and try to pick the best according to the weather. 30th or 31st would be good for me.


Velo do you have a skeleton events idea? I reckon this calender could fill up pretty quick. It may be an idea to concentrate on one Retrobike event? Wha'dya think?

okay, bit of a girly question now....

which chainset goes best with a bare aluminium frame?

i was thinking if i use the rs7 chainset i'll have to use ano stuff here n there.

i intend to polish up the coda chainset to mirror finish - no decals - so i can go for a black/polished look....which i'm favouring at the moment.

i thought i could then use these nukeproof wheels for a nice touch of carbon/more black.

and i think i'm going to stick with vbrakes on this build. archrivals/xtr/something else fancy.

Yeah that could just work, need to be a deep drop to get the cable round and down, will put out a wanted request- cheers zz btw the vega looks hard as **** with the bombers on, you better watch out when I get her finished cause she will batter your bikes ESP. That gayer gt, pray it gets sold! Anyone got an entry into BOTM this month?
