MacRetro chat and rides thread

That was pure smashing brilliant, all bike held up great but alas both Zz and me let MacRetro down a wee bit being at the back at all times. A win for the Englanders but they were on home turf and knew there way around.

I crashed at least 3 times, all low speed comedy jobs twice over the bars into the heather  ZigZag lost count of his spills, always good for the ego to have someone crash more than yourself but not hugely.

The twisty techy stuff in the woods after our lunch brake was the best bit and I'm glad I did this as I was going to give up at lunchtime.

The best bike for Thrunton is Si's or a clone of Si's mind you it would also help if you were Si to get the best out of it :D

Fantastic all round. :D :D :D

Kaiser, are you likely to want to keep those cranks or are you still testing and musing over them ? ;) Not bothered though, not hassling you understand :D

Further as regards Nishiki, LGF may not have yet posted it due to strikes and no suitable box. I think it unlikely I build it before the year end

If ya need them just shout, really looking for M900's for the Yo anyway.

Best trails in the country ?

Nah get real, best in Northumberland certainly but I have yet to ride all the country has to offer and for rooty singletrack Drumlanrig is still pretty good ;)

Still top fun and I go back, but I want to ride it in the dry :D

Nodded off on the couch like the sad old sack I am...

Thrunton - it's no place for mincers, but I'd still like to go back :) Great day of crashes interspersed with occasional riding.

Pretty much with Velo, found the whole day's riding very challenging - less time at trail centers, more time in the real world methinks. Enjoyed the 'close combat' woods trails as opposed to the wide open rocky and muddy stuff in the morning. Can't imagine doing any of that stuff at night, and Si is a lucky git having all that on his doorstep.

I think you both did a Stirling job and there's no shame in taking your time getting to the bottom of the hill ;) (just less desire to brake your self)
Glad to have met and ridden with you both, hope to do it again in the not to distant future

Just having a look at SSUK10 and SSEC10 both in Wales :( both over 350 miles each way for me.

Anyone still wanting to go to the Xmas day/Velos BD bash reply in the thread and I'll book up through the week.
