MacRetro chat and rides thread

you still got plans for the black lx cranks jimi? They would be perfect for the univega, got full lx groupset excepting the cranks ;)

I have a couple of silver cranksets that you can have in there place.

Think the black cooks will be going up for sale if anyone wants them?

If you have a set of silver ones Gazz i'll take those ;) , always seem to be short of cranks though, stuck for a set for the GT and the Clockwork.

If the silver ones are CD that'd be a bonus ;)

what is the measurement for compact drive anyway? they are silver. I also have xt silver you can have for what I paid £18.

Dr S has some silver arch rivals for sale too- very good brakes £40 I think.

Compact are 94mm and non compact is 110mm (i think ?), non compact is called ATB at CRC, the black LX ones are non Compact but have offset arms (some non compact have straight arms like early DX or XTR)

A swap is Cool and the Gang though, would also be interested in the XT ones ;)

cool can arrange a swap next time we meet unless you need them sooner?you can have the xt ones as well mate- got them recently but now don't need them slight rounding of the taper but still tighten hence the price I paid, £18 and they are yours ;)

Alpinestars in new rigid fork set up in the woods near my hoose. Handles better than the hardtail version, I think I just prefer rigid bikes

Hopefully get out on a ride tomorrow :D

Wotcha Haggis Munchers!

Gazz is right- have a mint set of Arch Rivals and some new TRP levers with Ti hardware (were £40 odd from CRC). Will do you a deal on the lot or swapsies????

So, Peaks Meet today and what a belter. Bright sunshine all day and epic views and usual superb craic (25 starters). Managed to keep up most of the time and feel happier about upcoming Kielder Thrash. One thing I will tell you guys building up Yo Eddies, Wow!! It was first run out on mine today and it was sublime. Even with that rigid fork upfront it was never harsh over the rough stuff and just went like stink. At one point we were on a rough gravel road and a guy went past on a Trials motorbike. The track started to go downhill and I fancied my chances. Within 500 yds I was on his back wheel as he slowed for some ruts. I saw a smoother line to his left and made my move and passed him right in front of the waiting group. He was not a happy bunny. Yo's are bloody great and you are just going to love it. I was actually gutted at the end of the ride when I put it in the van (so much so its in the hallway with my kit on standby for an early blast in the morning). Quite surprised that nothing needed fettling on its maiden voyage too- didn't even tweek the gear cable tension as you usually have to do.
All in all a top day, top weather, top folk and a top bike!

Sounds like you've made your mind up about the Yo then  Wish I could have made the Peaks meet, sitting at work at the mo :x . Whats the trails like in the area? Worth travelling for? Will the Yo be the weapon of choice then for Keilder?

Sounds like a top day si very envious and can't wait to get the bananarama up and running to see if you are right. Might have it ready for keilder just not convinced ss is the best option?

Velo love the pics and your man cave looks the business- you're getting the hang of this computer lark.

Zz did you get any joy at the bike place?
