What colour are the forks now? Black? If so I would just t-cut as the bike looks good with some battlescars. Nothing on the go at the mo but tempted to put some front bounce on the dale and get her up and running again.

Had a very short ride today and got very very very wet- sun is now shining feckin scotland!

Pics as an interim repair you can rub down with some fine emery and if its rusty a bit of Kurust or a spot repair kit from auto shops. You can also use model paints and nail varnish I saw you bought those Suntour levers too, had my eye on those because they looked nice rather than having anything to fit them too, are those for the Spesh?

I was going to crack on with the Goat this week but the Boulder fell to bits on its maiden outing.

1. Another broken Onza Canti :roll: brake spun round and jammed into rim.
2. Rear shock blew its main seal out and dumped oil all over the rear wheel which ended up all up my back. :evil:
3. Forks are far too stiff so need to change the oil back to 5w
4. Front mech kept slipping down tube and have discovered a crack in the clamp.
5. Shifting was poor going up gears. Cheap cable suspected.

Do you not fancy bounce on the Stumpy? keep the dale uber lightweight. If its any consolation its pissin again, it'll be at yours in about 20mins

I thought about that rust inhibitor stuff, if I remember right from my rusty Ford days it turns black, so wouldn't look too bad. The model paints didn't occur to me though... those little pots would take me right back 30 odd years, I like it.

Aye, I grabbed those levers for the Hopper - they looked in pretty good nick and a decent price too - it came with some choice Lee Chi items. The great thing about this bike is it was already a frankenbike before I touched it, it's destiny I tell ya!

Gaz - Front forks are same blue as frame, and aren't too bad looking, a bit of surface rust at the crown and not too much of the light blue touchup (EDIT: Just realised you were asking aboot Kaiser's cutlery, no mine). Stuff the weather, at least you got out for a ride, I got stuck at work last night and didn't get back in time to get out - had to go for a bloody run instead. Thinking about taking the morra off and testing my endurance up the Pentlands.

Nah their grey, which might look ok. I've an awful habit though if I don't do it just now I'll never do it. Though I may wait till I have a batch to go to the powder coaters, I'm gonna powder the frame the kens giving me and I think the fixed commuter might get a recolour too, over the winter though.

Well thats the Saracen moved on, kinda wish I had built it to try it out but hey ho. Hopefully see it built like it deserves. Might be the start of a purge.....

The good, no bad and the ugly.

It's not quite as dark when you get it outside - I was convinced it was a really dark blue last night.

Just got an email back from Gil, unfortunately he doesn't have these decals on file and the everytime he's tried to recreate from photos hasn't worked.
