Welcome Dave  , hope to see you and the Raleigh at a meet, and as Gazz said watch out for the for sale section sucking you in, it can get addictive.

Speaking of which

Finally got the wheel rims from CRC for the Bomber so going to organise getting the wheels built during the week.

Mind and bring the Clcockwork frame and the LX cranks on Sunday Gazz and i have those silver bars if you still need them

will do jimi you just need the cranks not the rings? the bars are cool to

Bah, twat that I am I cut the heel of my palm on a chainring last night while swapping some pedals. What makes it worse is that I'm looking at the chainring beforehand, thinking 'Hmm, I'd better be careful when the pedal comes loose, or my hand will hit that and I'll get a nasty cut'. Eejit  Now experimenting with that spray on plaster stuff...

Spesh in 1x9 mode for Arran - wasn't happy with the chainline in the low gears, so I've moved the chainring inwards using the original bolts (too long) and spacers. Looks a bit belt and braces, and the rear mech is far too big, but it'll do the now.

I suppose if I'm going to run it with gears I should at least retro it with thumbies, 7 or 8 speed cassette, etc. To the for sale section, with my £16 budget...

thats a bummer ZigZag I always have skint knuckles as I am such a mechanical clutz (no neandathal jokes please) hope your fettling is complete for the morra.

I have a nice set of miss-matched xt thumbies in the shed if that is of interest, indeed is anyone else looking for stuff? Tis good to have a noel edmunds swap shop thang going down!

Gaz - I'll take right hand thumbie of your hands - don't need them both as I'm not going to run a front mech. Bring it down the morn, and I'll take it off your hands... how much you want for it?

Just back from quick spin round Carron Valley reservoir with reluctant daughter. Bike should be fine for Arran, am liking having gears again :)

Don't really know, like the idea of a swap if you have anything interesting? Of not you can have a look at it and we can do like the towel-heads.

Liking the swap shop idea Noel - I'll chuck some of my shite in a box... nothing particularly interesting, but off the top of my head - couple of old sets of pedals (DX clippies, roadie looks), SS alloy spacers, BBB Ahead stem extender. Got some modern shite too, LX rear mech, Hope mini caliper, as new Octalink ES 51 BB (73 - 121), Shimano 160mm disc rotor.

Just the cranks is fine, have some rings there, pretty sure they are destined for the E3 anyway as the cranks on that are going on the Bomber.
Got a set of lovely White industries jobs on the way for the FSR 8)
