MacRetro chat and rides thread

BTW how long is it before we can sart winding perry up?

The Macretro massive are magnanimous in victory, we don't do big talk, just walk the walk  .

Mind you, he seems to have abandoned this thread of late, back with his cohorts in the mild-land thread I suspect.

yeah yeah you wernt that far ahead of me considering i walked most of the course

now i know what this racing lark is all about ill put in a better effort next time . might go for a gear lower than 36/16 too

i knew you scots wouldnt do too bad , what with all that landscape your hoarding up there . around here a kerb is considered a drop off

shame we didnt do so well against that stw lot :( ive already started to spec a much older much lighter bike for next year and i think there are some local races soon i might have a go at . be nice to have a retrobike win next year

wales is about 4 hours away from here so itl be considerably further for you lot . i wonder if the midlands could gather a group and blag a van . maybe it would be worthwhile for you to do the same if you wanted to defend your title next year :P

Wales is a wee bit further and it is hard considering the riding we have here, but I did really enjoy the weekend and if we get enough of us together could be a goer.... think we might need some gauntlets cast oor way again.

this is going to be a long 12 months

im quite scared of what the welsh would come up with to top the dalby course . i should use my blue dmr what with its cheater forks and just go with a range of chainrings for that but it would be nice to be really quick on something old

its great fun . a race but not really a race . more a race against mates within a race . you could go quick if you wanted but you didnt have to

would recommend it to anyone , there were all types out there . of course the race faces were in attendance making riding a bike look very painful to not go very fast to the large old guys

anyone else see the bird on the pink diamond back ? she was riding up the mountain bit just slightly faster than i walked so i spent a lot of time looking at her arse  i seemed to beat her in the end , mustave stopped as i dont remember passing her

perry, hate to tell you this mate but I stopped for 15 min after the first lap to eat cake and chat to the crowd, then had a very nice beer on the second lap and it still seemed like an age before you raced to the line  , mind you, think how much better you would have been if you had an alloy bike

It was great to meet you and the rest of the lads and I'm sure I could finess a pass for next year but might consider the train as that is a feckin long way.

sounds like a nice way to keep you going up a hill

Yeah we need more pictures!

BTW that was a great picture of your rolling down the hill Perry, I bailed on that one but just looked like a gaylord, you looked like you were in a scene from the dukes of hazard 8) 8)

i stopped for an hour to chat to those 2 ladies :P  and i dont remember you being awake at 2am smoking cigars

she would ride slowly , pull ahead , stop to rest then when i would catch up start riding again

shame the winner of oldest bike wasnt even a member :(

well i had to stop to do a bit of break dancing

i think that was as i was rolling back to my feet . ive seen pics of guys going down that a bit tentatively . if i wasnt so knackered id have spotted that really easy line on the side . i did hammer down it the 2nd time though to make up for it
