MacRetro chat and rides thread

Bob Jackson do a good job and are very reasonably priced as you can see from their site.
I heard as well that Shand now had their own paint facilities and judging by their own frames I am sure the quality would be very good. Like most of their stuff I cant imagine it being competative with Jacksons, Dave Yates or Rourkes.

Thought I'd just mention Im liking the S/S thing
But I dont 'think' the gearing is right for me just now (off road anyway).

Hi Rob
Glad to hear your liking it :D
In what way is the gearing not right? too high? too low?
You'll soon find what feels best for you.
I have a few cogs if you want me to send a couple down for you to experiment with.

Cheers
Jamie

Can you not just fart around using a normal set up Rob. Pick an approximate ,stick to it and see how you handle different terrain without giving in to the temptation to shift gear. :?

Bearer of bad news I'm afraid :( I'm not sure how many will remember him but the guy Messiah it seems has passed away. Seems to have happened when he was out riding. He popped in here infrequently, and less so recently and though he never made it to a ride but I do remember some of us having chats with him, he had the blinged up Dave Lloyd. Seemed to really love his bikes and riding. Picked the news up from STW.

RIP.

Yup just read that over in 98 plus chat, proper sad, he was younger than me. Mind you he was out on his bike when his end came so they have said so at least enjoying the sport he loved at the time.
We are but fragile mortals :(
