Hi there,
I thought someone out there might have some info on these, or still be riding one. The pictures below (hopefully) are of my dad's machine, still going strong, and still all original kit (except pads, cables, tubes etc). He was thinking of "upgrading", but I think I've talked him out of it for now. Does anyone know what year is this from? Anyone else got something similar? I don't know much about it, but seems worth hanging onto, there can't be many out there with all original spec after all these years. What do you reckon?

From distant memory (so expect someone who deals in facts to correct me), 1993/4?

Plain gauge steel/russian Ti mix? Not sure how many tubes were actually Ti.

I expect it to be fairly heavy, were these the ones that came apart at the lugs?

Anyhoo, it looks in great condition and pretty original. I'd keep it for the nostalgia value but wouldn't spend any money on it ;)

The threaded steerer dates it to 94 or earlier. Later M-Trax bikes had A-Heads. I've never seen a Dynatech tubing sticker on an M-Trax before.

Cheers chaps, 93-94 seems about right. I always thought it was a bit heavy, but it's lighter and rides a lot better than I remember it doing back in the day (except the brakes which have terrible levers). I think that later ones were front triangle ti and rear steel- I'd guess this is the same.

Plain gauge steel? Russian titanium? I don't think so. There are stories around about Raleigh using Soviet
chemical pipework for frames, but I'm sure this is just sour grapes from rival manufacturers!

The frame probably has titanium top and angle tube, with CrMo seat tube and rear triangle - 2120 frameset.
My Dyna-Tech Diablo has 2125 frameset which additionally has a titanium seat tube.

Dyna-Tech and M-Trax frames (maybe other Raleigh frames), dated from the prefix (or maybe suffix,
can't remember now) letter of the frame stamping (under the BB, not the Dyna-Tech frameset sticker).
A=1990, B=1991 etc. For example, my M-Trax is E, making it 1994.

Nice bike, though paint is a bit plain for a period Raleigh Dyna-Tech/M-Trax ;)

The above is correct. You have a frame with 2 tubes Ti. The top and down tube.

hi mate i have a 400 it has the same 2120 sticker and others as yours.the same tyres and its a 1993 ive got the manual with it on.

This thread just made me grab a magnet and check if my top and down tube are magnetic..... Guess when it won't stick it means I have a ti version rather than the cromo version!!
