Lubing Shimano rapidfire shifters

I had a Shimano rapidfire shifter that wasn't clicking through the gears very smoothly or consistently, so I removed the cover and gave it a clean out with some GT85 which seems to have fixed it. Before putting it back together I assume I should apply some lubricant, but what's best? Wet lube, multi-purpose grease? Something else?

I used Pace fork grease on the cams & a little Triflow on the ratchets. Seems to be doing the job.
