Low low mileage ‘93 Stumpy FS

It’s been a while but I had to strip this down and put it in storage while I cleared some space. I put some air in the forks before I stored it and bagged everything up in a box. I finally have enough room to build this back up so I dug it out today.
The forks seem to have held pressure which is great. I’ve decided to clean and polish this up as best I can rather than repaint or powder coat it. It’s so original, be a shame to lose the original paint and decals. It had quite a few tiny spots of rust dotted about where it’s sat around for decades but these actually cleaned up ok with autosol.
After that it was a case of beginning reassembly and cleaning/servicing parts as I went along.

The clear fork boots have yellowed a bit but they cleaned up really well, along with everything else so far. Found a low mileage cassette in my spares to go on - and I had to keep the dork disc on this, it’s immaculate and adds to the look I’m going for.

Made good progress and really looking forward to finishing it and actually riding it.

Got this finished off (at least for now) today. I’d like to strip and polish or maybe repaint the forks but otherwise I’m happy with it as it sits.

I’ve touched in a few tiny spots on the frame and I think the ti flite suits the overall look. The original handlebar grips are so thin and light, it almost feels like there aren’t any on there. :)

Looking good 👍
The original grips are probably the hardest part to source now - I could do with a set for mine!
