Comments – I have owned this frame since its purchase second hand as a complete bike in the mid 1980s, and decided to restore it a few years ago. The frame has been superbly refurbished by Argos Racing Cycles in flamboyant red with white panels as originally available from new and using authentic decals (see illustration on copy 1981 catalogue below.)
After 35 years, the original components were in poor condition and all have been replaced, mostly using either new or unused “new old stock”. I decided on modern equivalents for the brakes (these are Shimano calipers in a high shine silver anodised finish) as these have a similar appearance to the Universal 77s as fitted originally, but the dual pivot mechanism is far more powerful, and replacement pads are easily available
£450 or reasonable offer. This is well below cost of restoration/parts but I need the space. Collection only, from Cardiff
