According to seller:Is that an (Andy) Bone frame?
According to seller:
'Alan `Pongo` Braithwaite did build cycle frames under the name A.C.S. Paramount.A.C.S. Cycles of Front St. Arnold, Nottingham.was founded by Arthur Hunt and Cyril Harper. Arthur was a well known Nottingham rider who was in the 1948 Olympic squad (but was not selected on the day) and rode the world road championships in Holland the same year. Cyril was a toolmaker in the press toolroom at the then Raleigh Industries factory on Farady Rd. Nottingham. At the same time Arthur worked in the rim plating shop in the same factory. Both were members of the Broad Oak Road Club. At first only Arthur worked in the business but following an accident in which Arthur broke the neck of his femur and was hospitalised for a considerable period of time, Cyril left Raleigh to look after the business. Their frame builder was Jim Cockayne who built frames under rhe name of A.C.S Cycles. When Pongo joined the company as frame builder the name was changed to A.C.S. Paramount. I believe that Pongo was originally trained by Gerald O`Donovan who became a consultant to Raleigh in his retirement.'
