Why do you all shorten a lovely name like Peugeot to "Pug"

The English murder the word 'Peugeot' anyway by saying it as 'Purr-show'. The Scots, Irish, Aussies all use the correct 'Pew-joe', same as the French. How do we get 'Renault' correct and not say it as 'Renn-alt' but mess up Peugeot so badly?

Keeps me awake at night that does.
