Gentlemen of the Lost Souls, I have a favour to ask. After a spot of research I have found that to get both me and a bike to the race is likely to be prohibitively expensive and a lot of hassle as I dont own a car or for that matter have a driving license. Yes I know I'm a Scotsman and infamous for our financially mean ways but it is a pricey endeavour. So here is the favour I ask. Does anyone have a bike they could lend me for the race saving me the hassle and expense of bringing one. If you could it would need to be a big bike as I am 6'6" but it can be a gas pipe special, most of my bikes are anyway. I'm happiest on a nice rigid retro steed, suspension just confuses me. As I say I'm happy to cover a couple of laps no one else wants as I have several lights. Obviously I bring a present for whoever can lend me a bike.
Cheers
Velo

Frank would be a fully adorned technicolor yawn.

Well done Nick and I'm pleased to have a Scotsman aboard so that'll hopefully balance out the mix of Englishmen versus The Rest-of-GB - and hopefully there's a Yorkshireman amongst you to share the inevitable sheep-shagger references bound to come my way

I'm still planning my training

Extra £3 sent last night :)

Sweet FA Nick!

Unless, gulp, solo!

BTW, did you ever post those XT thumbie caps?

Mike

Mike

 I'm sorry buddy they're still in the tool box
I'll get and post them I promise (just glad I never took any money off yah)

If you get real desperate we've one place left but you'd only get three laps at best. Mind you Dicko10 is so taken with seeing your 6'7" mass squeezing into that pencil tent .....the same size as a regular sleeping bag I reckon he'd pay your entry fee just for the sheer awe and wonderment.

I'm sure that tent and Mary Poppins handbag share the same mystic powers.

I know he said he didn't mind night laps, so could be an option
Otherwise the good taste police might arrest him if he rides past Annes house in day light

Re:

It's ok Nick, keep them. You may need em yourself.
Just glad they're not lost in the post !

Solo is tempting me again. Am I ard enough?

Mike

It's meant to be a fun, social weekend. Not a penance.

Take your tag off, do an extra lap or two, join the team. ;)

Re:

Sorry for slow reply, mainly get internet access at work when I should be working. I'm happy to use any gate size bike offered and will ride bouncy or rigid bikes, beggars cannot choose. The whole point is just to join you lot for a great weekend with the least transport stress I can get.
So cheers Historyman, any bike you could spare would be great. :D
