Looking for the right forks

Aye, i'm looking for a pair of XC'ish suspension forks for a 17.5" stumpy fsr with a fox Triad. I'm 189lbs (yeh, i eat all the pie's in our house), and the rear end seems to be perfect at 160psi. I have a 100mm SID race fork which i fitted, but even at 160psi, which i think is max right? ...they felt like they were bottoming out too easy. I need something a little more solid that will take a bit more adventurous XC riding. Any advice would be most gratefully appreciated.

Can't speak for Sid pressures but Fox go higher I believe. Are you set in an air fork as a sprung version might be better for the heavier rider? Sids are pretty lightweight forks so you might be better with Reba or other more substantial fork.

ive got a set of red mx comps( gold stantions ) which i ran on my lts for years and im a bit heaver than u and never felt like they were having any issues and i did alot on it only took them off the frame as the headtube looked like it was starting to fail

that i could send u some pics as there no use to me so will be up for sale

might even have a black set too

Well My SiDs say for 180lbs+ rider, pressure = 160psi for xc & 140psi for racing, but tbh i dont feel like there particularly suited for my pie habbits  I was thinking Marzocchi or Fox too. I tried a set of DJ2's out (which are coil, open oil and air) thinking they'd be a bit beefier than the SiDs, but was maybe a mistake. There still to stiff (even with low air) ..and they weigh too much really. I'm like friggin Goldilocks. I just want something that's gonna complement the damping qualities of my rear Triad ...which i love :)

What sort of system / travel ?

I do have some rebas that are listed for sale. Someone has stepped in and said they'd take them, but not heard anything for a few days. If you think they might work, let me know, otherwise good luck in your search for the right fork, it will be out there.

tbh, i'm not too sure which ones would be best suited for me, and i can't really afford to make another wrong choice guys. Will have to hold on i guess, till i can gather some more info. Hope it's not too late.
