Looking 4 history of Off Road 552 or the company in general

Re:

That makes sense and it works very well. I've heard that the elastomers are impossible to obtain and have been attempted to replicate, don't know the percentage of success.

I would imagine that the spring should last the life of the bike unless really used heavily for a long period of time.

Cheers...

You can get the elastomer's from a place over in america. My mate bought a proflex animal last year and the elastomer's had melted and turned solid. Took a couple of weeks and they worked out at about 35 quid but that was for a set for the rear and front.

Re:

You were right yetiguy, I browsed the Internet and found that a company on eBay used to sell the springs to replace worn elastomers. You can find it yourself if you type 'ProFlex Spring' under completed listings, not sure if they still sell them but worth emailing if anyone wants to replace a worn elastomer.

I have uploaded a picture of my rear suspension and it's just a coil spring between two cups and works very well.

Cheers.

Ah intresting! I've seen a lot running the springs recently , nice to know you can choose in running a spring or elastomer.

Intetesting, so no damper. Is the pivot inside the mounting at the top of the rear stays?

Yes I think so. If you or anyone else has a ProFlex then the springs are back on eBay with worldwide postage. Link below.

Can anyone identify my forks and provide a service manual? It says Rock Shox Magnesium on them, is Magnesium the model? Cheers.

Re:

Archive and Gallery has the manuals and service guide (big title at top of the page in normal webview, not mobile).

Magnesium on a sticker would mean they are of the MAG series.
