Lookin for some help with 1998 Marzocchi Z1 bam parts

Hey all you fork experts! I'm hoping a front fork guru with great knowledge of the older Marzocchi's might help me out here.

I am hunting for a hydraulic cartridge to repair a 1998 (stamp in circle is 97) Marzocchi Bomber Z1 BAM fork off a Rocky Mountain DH Race. Can anyone tell me if cartridges from other models or years will work in this fork?

Thanks for any help!

Marzocchi calls it a cartridge. It is the aluminum piece with the little threaded part on the bottom. The one that is really easy to bust off if you torque it just a little too much

It is part number 11 on the parts breakdown.

Any help appreciated :)

Any 100mm rebound cartridge from 1996 - 2001 inclusive will fit.

Dead Z1s useful for parts come up fairly regularly so keep an eye out for them.

You can also fit non cartridge air internals from a 100mm fork as another fix too.

Hey thanks for all the responses.

I just want to confirm about the 1996 to 2001 advice. What makes me want to double check is that the manual for the 1999 shows different top configuration on the hydrailc cartridge than the 1998. Does this matter?

Will the different top part work just fine?

Do I need to disassemble the hydraulic cartridge to change the top bits?

Best Regards
S.

big.eck that's a great offer! Just a heads up though-I'm over here in Canada. Haven't got the foggiest what shipping might be.:?: Could be quite reasonable but I have no idea. I realize that most of the forum membership is in the UK/Europe but this was "the" hardcore retro bike site on the net.

If you find something let me know and I can look into shipping.
