Weird linkage forks are awesome!
I'll measure the stroke length this weekend as I have the shock apart. I'll let you know. Stainless steel 3D printed will be an awesome material for the mounting bracket.
Try to look for a low tune shock that's not too over-damped on compression. As far as shape goes I think some Risse shocks might work. I did my modern shock tinkering on the Girvin since they're not as rare as the Fournales and cheaper too, maybe you have better luck with a different manufacturer.
