In the same way you think these cars look retarded, i genuinely think most modern cars look retarded and fugly.
Different tastes :)
It's not an age thing with these cars, I don't dislike them because they're old, it's the whole run-so-low that aesthetically they just look, well, wrong.

The body looks to run too low, the top of the wheels being obscured spoils the aesthetics, and looks as if something is broken, and because of this, it makes the wheels look like they're too small for the cars.

Consider any car that's considered (largely) objectively beautiful (DB9, for example) they may well run lower than normal cars you'd see everyday, but they look aesthetically pleasing, and still function well for what they're supposed to do.

Not a fan of the DB9 but that's beside the point, i can climb under that.

The db9 aesthetically pleasing
With the lol-ing?

Are you saying that this:-

isn't aesthetically pleasing?

Poor colour choice and wheels are dull but I do love a sorted DB9

I would have one in a heartbeat,... :)

The db got ugly at 6 and any fool with the cash can have a 9 . When the 3 got sold it had to go to the right chap .

And is that a small family living in the space between the tyre and arch

Sweet!! RHD Too.

4 bolt burners on a 66? The front's got a nice look! 4 1/2s or a bit of a nip tuck?

It is a late 66 so it is discs up front

5" rims but they have an excellent offset,...et41 believe so are reet tucked in :D

What does a modern Aston Martin have to do with anything in this thread

I can't afford one!! And if I could I would buy a Pre A 356 Porsche instead.

I can afford my small collection of old cars though. I spend my time traveling up and down Britain to see and meet other car club members in the different car clubs/forums I belong to.

I spend my money on improving them by way of fixing and renevating them. My other cars are bone stock apart from the Audi Coupe has some 17nich fox alloys on. It is on standard shocks.

My Notch is my Hot Rod and I play with it like a toy, which is what it is. :D

I'm a happy chap and I would say my penis is not a bad size either!!

this thread has moved on somewhat!

i've been on track the same time as a 6r4! awesome beasts. make my little golf look slow when they come flying past though.

just going back to stance, i have 2 golfs. the wife drives a mk 3.5 cabrio i made a mistake when i ordered the suspension kit (honest love  ) and it is silly low. rear wheels are tucked right into the arches, the sills scrape on the path when we go down the drive. it looks amazing.

my golf is a road legal trackday car and is set up for speed on and off the track (not that i condone speeding on the road, far from it bit i mean it is for driving, not looks) . the suspension is a little lower than standard but there is still plenty of travel. stance is still there but doesnt look anywhere near as agressive as the cabrio. horses for courses innit

I wasn't going to post this until after Volkworld but the pics have been cropping up all over the tinternet!!

My rebuilt 1964 Resto-cal 'notchback' :D
