Lightweight wheelset, retro or modern

I'm looking for a decent set of lightweight 26" wheels, 9-speed and sub-1700g. I guess I'm looking for something like Crossride/Crossmax or 517 rims with decent hubs. Looking for V-brake rims ideally but I could make a few changes for a good set of disc wheels, if the right set should come along. Skewers/cassette/tyres etc not required.

Cheers

Re:

I have a set of 36H X517 rims built onto M730 hubs with sapim laser spokes/brass nipples that around the 1700g range. They have a UG freehub but with an axle change a 8/9/10 speed freehub could be converted to take 9 speed. It would require a bit of work but hey light high spoke count wheels with the best hubs shimano made in the XT range. Or I could fit a 7 speed M732 body to them and you could runs a 10 speed cassette with one cog dropped i.e get rid of that pointless 11t sprocket.

I'll post some pics if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer but I'm really looking for something straightforward -I already have a 'project' wheelset and the reason I'm looking for another one is that I can't see myself getting around to it for a while yet!

Drop me a Pm if your looking for a custom wheelset I have a large stock of rims and hubs and I'm a specialist time served wheel builder not like above ^

Hope pro hubs, DT rims - rims will take v brakes, and hubs will take discs!

If you're interested, I can get you weights tonight.

Where in hampshire are you?

Sorry cannondale king but I am a specialist wheelbuilder who builds alot of wheels every day in fact so take that back please.
I also have a large stock of rims and hubs to build such a wheelset it is what I do.

Not really looking for a custom build new set so I'll let the East Anglian specialist wheelbuilders argue amongst themselves about the wonderful wheels they could expertly build :)

Will PM others who have replied, but keep the offers coming in in the meantime - once sorted I'll update the thread.

Cheers

Same here dude currently six pair's a day but I don't keep spamming up the forum with random builds hence my post  it's kinda tiresome.

Plus please use spell and grammar check! Your post as well as your website is hard reading with so many mistakes I want to cry with frustration, No wonder you don't teach anymore!
