Let's build a Ritchey p23: what diameter seatpost do I need?

unofficial

Dirt Disciple
I may have slightly overpaid as these never show up in Sweden but I got my hands on a P23! I think it's a 90 model but am not sure. There is some work to be done and parts to be swapped and I would love feedback on what should go on here! Also if anybody knows someone or has parts (especially a red logic fork) please let me know as it would be fantastic to get out on this by the summer!

Things I am considering changing out

Brakeset
Seat & Seatpost
Shifters
Fork
Cranks & maybe chainrings
(Just bought a nice silver forcelite bar from here, not sure if its actually better than the ti bar on there now)

Again any suggestions, tips, or offers of parts would be great, I am willing to swap any of the above stuff as well.

And what everyone came here for...

Lovely mtb's. I'd build period correct. Then put in to MoTM

Promax and V, argh.
Deffo needs cantis.

Yeah it seems a logic brake set is the standard way to go, as well as everything else. In one sense it fits together well but in another sense it's a little uncreative just putting logic everything, if its a '90 I think it even pre-dates a lot of logic components? Either way I want it to reflect it's period and have components up to spec with the frame.

Re:

Lovely! I have some Ritchey Logic canti brake levers if you'd like them. Wouldn't be too expensive and happy to ship.

Re:

I’m in the ‘its a rider’ camp. I’d just replace/upgrade with what needs replacing and get out and enjoy it, rather than spending a fortune making it 100% catalogue or period correct. If the latter is your thing and its your dream bike of youth, then it’s got to be done. :D

WTF is MoTM

Anyway what a great starting point .....if only that patina could talk

Re:

Ooohhh you lucky bugger!!! One or two nice Ritcheys turning up lately with big potential.
What condition is the original paint in?
Xt is always nice but suntour group would be a nice option here. Suntour seems and looks a little better engineered to me even though I don't have any.

If getting out there is your priority then new cables and a regrease will see you out there.

Either way I'm not at all jealous   honest
