I know many on here have a downer on this event but it looks like it is shaping up well.

With 2000 entries this will be the biggest retro bike event ever in the UK.

Would be good to meet anyone from here who is going ...

We will be camping in a black VW Camper reg ending SML ... drop in a for a cup of tea to say hello if you see us ...

Okay, will do. I'll be sporting my Pinarello (not strictly pre-85 vintage, but qualifies as retro-replica). My other bikes which were of sufficient vintage just don't have the gear range for the hills unfortunately.

Will look out for you.

Anyone sees me say hello ...

I am looking forward to it and can't decide on the ALAN or Colnago.

The organizers now have a small shop selling T shirts and tops etc. They are good quality and will apparently be available at Bakewell over the weekend (at a cheaper price than the shop!)

I understand the organizers have got a five year franchise on the event.

Not going (due to being too busy) but for future ref, how steep/long are the biggest climbs.

I havn't been on most of the route but the hill that goes up from Edale is 15% and must be a mile and half plus.

Not with those pedals you won't!

OK I know you have got some proper pedals with leather straps and shiny chrome things on the end ;)
