I know that the newer Klein's aren't true Klein's, but I managed to pick up this frame cheap a few years ago whilst back in the UK and always liked to look of it. I always wanted to build it up and after putting the Cannondale bamboo frame build on hold, I decided to see what bits became available. One of the good things in NZ is that parts are quite often really cheap especially when compared to good ol' blighty and when not buying from lbs. So built with a mixture of new and used parts. Current weight (as pictured) is 10.4Kg - not that I was aiming to build light!
BUILD SPEC:

Frame: 2006 Klein attitude (sizzlin' red linear)

Re: latest build - 2006 Klein attitude - almost complete

aluminum xc front 26" looks better than modern 29" xc-race... this klein is so damn beautiful!!!
really nice clamp system on that cb stem!!!

Re:

Thanks for that. I know its not everyones cup of tea, but I think its coming together really nicely. I've got a couple of bits to finish - Rear wheel, fork decals etc. Will post new photo's soon.
I've only managed to get it around the drive so far and it rides so nicely.

Thanks again :)

Re:

Well, little has changed in the past few months. Struggled to get spokes for the Crossmax's, then found a lovely crack in the rim and finally in the last few weeks sourced a rim from the US. However could only get to post to my parents in the UK so I'll have to wait until I can get it to NZ.
In the meantime I sourced a cheap set of XTR M975 wheels that go nicely, changed the decals on the SID's to red (not sure!!) and changed the bottle cage bolts to gold Ti ones.

Here's a couple more shots.

Also managed to pick up another frame relatively cheap (£170)

Frame: 20?? Klein attitude (green purple colour - struggling to find out what its called)
Fork: 2010 Fox F-series FIT RL (100ml)
Bar: Bontrager XXX carbon flat
Stem: **broken Easton ea70 ATM**
Seatpost: Bontrager XXX carbon - polished Salsa clamp
Pedals: Shimano XTR M980
Saddle: Fizik Gobi XM
Headset: Chris King (pewter)
Brakeset: Shimano XTR M985
Rotors: Shimano (160F/160R) **threw on a couple of spares for now
Crankset: Shimano XTR M985 ** thinking of changing to M960 polished triples
Rear derailleur: Shimano XTR M986 Shadow+ carbon cage.
Front derailleur: Shimano XTR M985
Shifters: Shimano XTR M980
Cassette: Shimano M980
Wheels: Shimano XTR M985
Tyres: Schwalbe Rocket Ron

Oh and polished Ringle Ti stix for good measure

attached are some more pics of how its looking so far, the pictures really don't do the paint justice.

Bring on the good weather!!
