Last Q before first ride :)

Well the Banana appears to be complete!

It indexes up and down the cassette, moves quickly on the chainrings and no rubbing, yeah I think shes ready for a photo shoot then a test ride.

I've just been going over everything with the torque wrench, 5nm for the stem clamp bolts as per the stem etching, nothing on the stem face plate but I went the same 5nm. Now seatpost clamp I went with 10nm but it felt it could have gone a lot more.

I also set the brake caliper mounting bolt at 10nm. The pads are not totally central but ya talking maybe 1mm further to the rim non drive side, I can live with that just on a test ride.

So before I cock my leg over it tomorrow I have one final q, more a concern really. It's these dropouts.

The rear wheel is right at the end of the dropouts and I'm worried the wheel may fall out. Am I safe to give this a try ?

I guess worse case is rear wheel hits frame. With the 28mm tyre on, the wheel cannot come out anyway without being deflated, but I thought I'd ask before I write it off on my first ride lol.

I've ridden like that.
Many times.
Only thing you can do is keep an eye on it. And make sure the qr is done up tight. (So it marks the drop out)

If it shifts, the solution is generally Shimano closed cam skewers. They can create some serious end load!
