Last night’s ride turned into retrobike heaven!!!

It can still remain the same, but that doesn't mean that it has to gather dust! I'm sure people would absolutely love to see it out. Look at the interest that it's got already just by being on here.

The bike has a story to tell - Polish it up, take it to events and show it off!

to be fair though you dont know the guy or how he was affected by his death. perhaps he cant bear to walk past it on a daily basis nor does he want to part with it

Or maybe 'this was my best friends bike and I'd like it to remain the same as when he was alive'

Fair enough, so why not cover the main tubes with pipe lagging and bubble wrap, put vaselene on the alloy componants, remove the tyres then place it to one side where nothing heavy is going to fall on it?

Sorry- thats just neglectfull treatment of a special bike.

But that's our view of the bike rather than the owners.

I have (like many people here I suspect) things that have been passed down to me by deceased relatives and friends. To me, they're just trinkets to fondly remember the person by but they spend most of the time stuck in a cupboard or drawer somewhere. Other people might see this as a shocking waste of an important or valuable item (although, sadly they're all pretty unimportant and of low value  )

Also the Lad got shat on by the bike industry (10yrs ago), he left with a very bitter taste in his mouth and he’s just started mountain biking again.

I was asking if he had any parts from BITD, imagine my horror when he told me he skipped a Tioga disk drive!

Dr S I regret not texting you about going to Kielder last night!! Please tell me you wouldn't have travelled across and you went to chopwell instead?

Click here for the gallery on the tribute website. There's a few pics of the bike there.

was going to post here directly but pics are copyright of James Mcroy and don't want to get retrobike into any infringement issues.

Can understand that there are emotioanl issues here but have to confess that it would be great to see the bike out of the loft. :( . Even if it were only to do some routine maintenance and some good pics. :?
