All feedback welcome.....it's good to have some lateral thinking too so I appreciate everyone's input.

Some good pointers and I have heard a few times that it's tough to avoid rusting. I need to see how far gone it is when it arrives too....could be beyond saving yet as it is very old and I got it off eBay for 85 quid lol.

I got my P7 re lacquered by C & G Finishes in Liverpool - was around £40 iirc... They did a great job to be fair.

unless i'm missing something... Nickel plate is tough, and should be fine by itself.

rub down with bunched up tin foil to de-rust, and polish. Shouldn't need anything else?

Sounds good....may get it done by a pro if it will only cost 40 quid....cost as much to buy the lacquer and I can't bake it on

It's not necessary to lacquer as nickel plating is very tough as it is, but it will protect the frame a bit better of course.
