La Vie Claire Bernard Hinault 753

Re:

i've spoken to steve a couple of times and he's going to build the frame for me, so thanks for posting his details up here - he seems like a sterling chap and knows what he's talking about. the fact he's a similar age really helps too!

to add to the list:

got the campag dropouts and a couple of other items to make the whole experience even more fun . . .

Glad you have the builder sorted.

What has been his suggestions re tubing, as I guess from your other thread that you are not quite set on that yet?

Looking forward to seeing the end results.

Re:

i'm going down south to see him sometime soon to discuss what frame tubes to use, to as closely replicate the good old 753 as possible. he's really easy to talk to and knows exactly what i'm looking for. i'm going to take the old eddy merckx down with me so he can take the measurements from that.

Re:

just won a NOS corsa record headset for the impossible price of £60 (isn't ebay weird sometimes??!) and got a cinelli non spoiler bb shell too. hope to get this frame on the move in the next ten days or so . .

oh and the tubes too . .

;)

Re:

you're spot on , but greg did . . .

i can replicate their bikes, but i highly doubt if i can replicate either of those guys' legs!!

I'm pretty sure Bernard wore Rudy Project glasses, not Oakley.

After he bust his nose and ray bans

Had a set of those rudys in yellow bitd

Result on the h/s

Re:

I own a Look Hinault that I picked up about 15 years ago.
It is as close to Lemonds setup as I can make it. I would love to post some photos here but can't figure how.
Anyway, good luck with the build!
