L is for Lotus, Jerky's new project

Pulling up a chair for this one Rob. I remember drooling over one of these in MTB pro i think? I went out and test rode the alu hardtail off the back of it and very nearly bought that.
Its gotta have a red saddle ;) , its just how i remember these awesome machines!

Sorry my inspiration for this build is from this image.

I like the stealthy look to it. Seems to look fantastically modern for a frame that has just turned 18 years old.

(favourite bit is the titanium drop outs)

A sneaky peek at the 1st build progress. Remember, this is to test the repairs that I have made to the surface finish of the frame, to ensure that they flex where they are meant to flex, before I go ahead and get it repainted.

And a shot of the RC35's with the 4 bolt magura mounts...perfect for the frame.

Looking good.

What are you using for repairs? I have a Mongoose carbon aero road frame (same same but different to the lotus version) There are a few little dings i would not mind filling myself.

I seem to remember my mate's ex-wife doing an article on these for the BBC BITD (she was also a keen cyclist - they did John O'Groats to Land's End on a Cannondale tandem in 9 or 10 days, IIRC).
I'll contact him and see if he's still got a copy of the article.

sweeeeeeeeeeeet, remember seeint them in a shop in plymouth and spending ages just drooling over it,dont think i ever bought owt from the shop tho lol

With a nice basket it will make a great shopper, and that step over will let you ride it in a ball gown.

I love these bikes, and considering your usual build standard it will end up top banana.

:)
