My first MTB was a 1993 Kona Fire Mountain. I did over 9000 miles on it and replaced everything but the frame and stem. Sadly no pictures but I'll always have a soft spot for Kona's.

If ever find a decent mid 90's Hei Hei I'd find it difficult to turn down.

Same here not sure what year mine was bought it in 1996 2nd hand to rip around Epping Forest on then sold it my brother who recently restored it and now rips around China on it : )

I couldn't give my frame away a couple of years ago. I've still got the original forks waiting for a new lease of life.

Cheers!. They're Alesa X-plorers bought pretty cheaply from ebay - tracking down a matching pair of 36 hole M570 hubs was a bit of a nightmare but got there in the end. They'e certainly not lightweight but hey, you could lose yourself in that blue

Here's my resurrected Kona Lava Dome

found the frame dumped and battered many years ago and remember picking it up, then throwing back down due to the amount of dings and the state of the drop out. But went back later thinking one day I could use the P2s. By far my favourite Kona colours and decals (peeling how I like em). Spent an afteroon sorting/straightning the frame out. Then slung some bits on and then borrowed some from my 2000 cinder cone. Need a proper seat post clamp and maybe a better single speed lighter crank, but it flys and love it, another keeper eh!

After written my specialized stumpjumper m2 off, top tube craved in. I was on the look out for another lightweight frame. A few weeks ago 1996 kona kula frame was on here, so I thought new project time. Few weeks past and got it through. Built it up same day in the afternoon, feels nice and light, not sure on the whole single speed thing yet, but a proper ride would let me know.

Spec wise, around 20lb
