Re: what year.......

a kona explosif frame, with no disc mounts, ritchey dropouts, etc, im told its reynolds 853 tubing from 2000 model year, are there any kona owners that can confirm this for me.....?????????????????????

...853 was 98/99, 2000 was Scandium - I have both.

Well actually one is a Kiluea at the moment, the 98 Explosif is just a newly powder coated frame wearing naught but a Raceface BB. I have a shoulder injury which is detracting me from the build process for the time being - that and not concentrating on one bike at a time!

Eventually I will posting 'yet another' '91 Cro-Mega LX, my '98 853 Explosif, 2000 Scandium Explosif and my other half's Stumpjumper (which will probably upset a few purists as it's going to be a bit 'gurly!').

As I only have the front Maguras to go on the Cro-Mega that'll most likely be up first?

In the meantime I'm trawling through the site wondering if I dare put them up here next to the amazing concours examples that get the most attention?

It's a 2002 Explosif.

...and my Retro 'style' 2000 Explosif (sans grips at mo as I've only just changed the shifters). Just weighed in at 24lb, quite pleased with that as I knew it was light...
