Kona's page

I haven’t got round to taken any latest pics of this^ but I’ve been using it more and more and as much as I liked the retro look of the original bar / stem combo it was super narrow and I missed a wider bar.

Recently swapped over from the 560mm bars/120mm stem to an Answer stem in 100mm and some Kona low rise bars in 660mm.

I’m 50/50 on which look I prefer but the ride suits me so much more now.
It is a tough balance between looks and ride. In the end ride is more important to me but looks are also a consideration.

Totally. It’s a bit head and heart. But there is a story to the bike too. I had a lovely fleet of bikes stolen (6 bikes, plus 2 other family members bikes and my tools, spares, etc). A friend buys and sells old Kona bikes now and then after a tidy up. This one has all original papers but needed minor stuff: pedals, saddle, new brake cables but he gave it to me after the theft.

It is totally there to be ridden and enjoyed. Hence the tough call. TBF it looks good now too (in my eyes) just not as original.

Love your bike btw - I think I follow on insta as it looks familiar 😎

The nice thing about bikes is you can swap back and forth if you want. Nothing is really permanent.

Cheers. I do have an isntsgram account for it and my others so that's likely it

Hopefully without appearing to be acting like the Retrobike Police...... this thread seems to have recently steered away from its original intention.

If you glance back to the original post, former member guybe wrote this:

"Hello, can you post just one photo of your Kona's on here please, like to see all different Kona's bikes on here."

The thread has now moved onto discussing the builds of various member's bikes, and some missed opportunities of obtaining a desired bike.

Perhaps it may be better to reserve discussing the building of these bikes in a specific member's thread.

Pip
