Kona vs Saracen - halp me Retro-bike Kenobi

Re:

Me pal owns that Kili model from 95 (is the 96 with fiddleback stays), i went with him to see an IF that could be bought and he ducked it, told me later the kili trumps it uphill, ses it goes on it's jacks....it does look like that when i'm behing him.

IS the Alu kona the same colour to the steel 96 explosifs?

The Explosif in the '96 catalogue is a sort of olive green colour I think. Checked over all the threads on the Kili today, everything is in good nick. Picking it up next week

Yeah...i know about the green variant, just wondered if it was the light in your pic or the colour was different again to the gold coloured Explosif colombus kona produced.

Those frames are seriously different sizes - choose whichever actually fits you.

I'd take the Sarry myself. A very decent ride, surprisingly well constructed, and British. I've nothing especially against Kona, but they ain't all that.

Re:

For me , steel and right size wins every time , regardless of make .

Re:

Finding a seat post long enough is bad enough , you try sourcing a 300mm 1" quill stem !
