That's a 93 stem. Sunken (shorter) expander bolt which should have a black plastic bung to hide it. Fr bar clamp will have a slotted hollow for weight loss & the alu wedge has been on a slight weight loss program too.
The 91/2 stems have a longer expander bolt & heavy cast cap for the bolt to sit in & painted black.

Apologies, I have been away. Minor_Legend has it spot on.
The chrome ones were exclusive on 93. I’ve only seen them fitted on the higher end models, and were a stock fitting in the US for HOTS. The rubber bung is often lost, so if you have it, you are doing well.

I’d try source the original black version of you are able. You can find Ti expander bolts for both types if you want to replace and reduce weight.

Thanks to you and Minor_L for filling me in. Unfortunately I don't have the bung - may just whittle down a champagne cork and use that until I can find one (I understand that's like finding a needle in a haystack). I have a black stem that's appropriate for '91, but like the polished chrome version better and will be using that for now. Appreciate both your responses - this is a great site!
