any tips on frame numbers just been offered a rove ?? its not road bike and im sure rove is but looks titanium and seller just confirmed it is ti affter i pussy footed round trying to find out the frame material without asking outright is it ti ;)

edit an hour and half drive to find a very nice looking bike with some decent xt xtr and mavic gear on it, unfortunatly my magnet found some atraction to the frame but not like steel, no rust on it built in gear hanger and fluted lines on the tubes  says kona but think the decals fell from ebay and landed on the frame. and an hour and half drive home without a ti kona

I had a few Kona and Cove ti's. I could be mistaken. Early one were made by Sandvik and should have made in us stamped on the bottom of the bb shell. I don't ever recall rack mounts on the chain stay. The drop out are wrong. The decals are wrong.

Looks more like a Sunn to me. And not ti.

Somebody else started a thread about this bike. Must have pipped him to the post!

And. if I may add, no titanium frame (that I remember) has ever had any mudguard/rack eyelet
:)

unsure myself but its now in the hands of smiffy viewtopic.php?f=1&t=278419 as he was interested as well, its got some nice parts on it but i do see it as more 2000 + and not retro pre 97 have some close up pics of the tubes ect see if anyone can guess the frame, its totaly rust free and in amazing condition, worth the trip over but was realy hoping for something titanium and my size at a bargain price but heyho not to be and smiffy got a great deal out of it ;)

I was just looking at the construction I thought plated steel, got down to your last pic and if the sticker has been on there from new it would seem to confirm that.

Nice, very clean frame
