I may have a tripple butted P2 fork, new but slightly shop soiled. Will update when I get it, unfortunately it was the last one they had. Trevor.
You git! :D

What are the variations in the P2 forks? I'm getting confused by all the different ones out there!

I dont think there can be many variations with the tripple butted version seeing as there isn't any left! I will make sure its the right one before I shout about though

Send it to me to check it out. I'll make sure I give it a thorough testing before reporting back and/or fleeing the country.

From what (little) I understand, and from what I've seen on my travels there appears to be the following choices:

Single butted - disc only
Single butted - canti only
Single butted - disc and canti
Triple butted - canti only
Triple butted - disc only

Mnnnnngh. Which is which?!

If period, you want them to look like these.

If new, you don't want them to look like these black ones, because they're too long.

Aside from that, provided you have 41cm length, canti mounts, tb blades and a 1 1/8 steerer, you can't go wrong!

Sure you dont want to sell yours Anthony? I would give you a good price! Trevor.
Well I did buy the pair yesterday as they'd be better for my Lava Dome, assuming they're in ok condition, but the original ones have sentimental value and I've plenty of potential uses for them.

I'm sure you'll find a pair on eBay before long. You could have made use of those ones from yesterday IMHO and I wouldn't have bid if you had been going for them. If I find that the new ones are ok and will fit a size 17 frame ok, I'll let you know, but it'll be a while as the seller doesn't take paypal.

They have just arrived! I now have a brand new, near mint (couple of very small chips), pair of Kona P2 Tripple butted forks. Yes they are black but they are the T/B versions and are 41cm in length. I now have a few options for my 97 Explosif. These being,

1. Put on the Black P2's as they are.

2. Have the P2s resprayed in a gunmetal grey to make them look period.

3. Fit the near mint 1997 Rock Shox Judy SLs I won on ebay yesterday!

If I dont use the P2's for the Explosif I am looking for a singlespeed project so they may still come in handy.

Any thoughts?

Trevor.

I thought the '97 Explosif came with Indy SLs?

They belong on a '97 Kilauea! ;)

I have a gunmetal P2 forks for sale if interested? 1 1/8" threaded steerer with 183mm steerer length, will fit on 19" Kona's frame with 150mm frame headset tube.

Condition is very good with the orginal paint with about 6/7 spots that can easily touch up, one decal is slighty scruffed while the other one is fine, you can get decals from gil_m if needed.

Thanks
