not too worried if it doesn't sell but think I'm more a riser bar rider so will fit some of them and poss knobblies

Pm's answered one guy viewed, test rode, still for sale
Away at the moment but will upload more pics when I return,
may split down to frame and forks if enough interest, but not yet.........

Thanks for your interest so far

Tony

if you split, i would like to know whats stamped on the steerer tube?
i have a 92 lava dome and even though it says project two tripple butted on the fork decal, the steerer tube is actually stamped 1991 CM/SB which i am gonna deduce means chromoly single butted

just curious, thanks

yes here is my thread: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... highlight=

it is remarkably like the 92 catalog description, came with a "horseshoe" for the rear brakes and they are low profile B-RM 501 [just like the catalog description] while the fronts are more wide type B-RM 454 cantis.

even the handlebar [KONA 165] setup is correct [MT-62 "DEORE thumbshifters/MT-63 brake levers] per the description except for the stem [says DB on the barclamp area] i cant identify the grips, so dont know about them.

front and rear mechs and chainset match catalog [RD-M500/FD-M500/FC-M500]

i bought it without a wheelset, so dont know where they went.......

big difference is the downtube decal, cant find any info on why this one has a K" and the word mountanbikes and an american flag versus the standard "KONA" on the downtube
gil_m is currently making me a decal set to match, will have both the "KONA" and the "K MOUNTAINBIKES *FLAG*" so i can do it up either way

hopefully it will be as nice as yours when i am done.

i am going to upspec it a bit with a M730/732 wheelset and M735 mechs front and back.
found a replacement velocity stem and NOS MT-63 brake levers but havent found a replacement handlebar though, and the KONA 165 bar is faded to silver on the top[brake levers faded badly as well] so for now a regular black bar will go on until i run across one. plus a modern saddle because i WILL be riding it.

I remember your thread now Doug think I made some comments
About frame size etc. if I keep mine not sure whether to return it
To stock or upgrade but at the moment I just enjoy riding it as it is then
Maybe put knobblies and risers for trail riding.

Right then, this is where I meant to say the following (and not on my balls-up 'Top Condition' thread!)

Just wanted to bump up this beauty. I viewed last week and can confirm it's in amazing shape.

Tony, you know my requests if a split happens ;)

I know you say you wont split and prefer pickup but if you change your mind, and wanna split and send.
I will gladly take the frame, fork, headset, and seatclamp ;)
i am living in Copenhagen in Denmark atm.
Edit: and the brake leavers :D
