It is a 1997 size 18. The seat post isn't all that long, so it can't be very far into the frame. Those posts were prone to bending and once they bend, they can easily jam into the seat tube. I wouldn't heat it under any circumstances. If the worst comes to the worst, the post can be cut out of the tube. But first I would clamp the post onto a bench extremely firmly and try to turn the frame relative to the post, holding the furthest extremities of the frame for maximum leverage (keep a hub or wheel in to avoid any danger of distorting the stays).

yoo cheers for the advice mate, i don't think im gonna do anything to be honest. I really dont want to damage this bad boy. I will leave this to whoever buys it and i now officially quote the price tag for this bike now stands at £120
 
I was so close to emailing u mate and going for it, but i'll hold off till you can put up a picture of the dents as i can see them in the first pic and although they may be minor i'd rather see them in their glory, lol.
Cash is burning a hole in my pocket so hurry up :p
