Kona Lava Dome 1996ish?

I'd get an 80mm fork and some V brakes and be done with modifying it after that. It's what I've done with my 1995 one.
A nice Marzocchi Z2 and the other bits wouldn't set you back more than around £150 from the small ads here.

While it's not the most exotic frame, it's the same as the Cinder Cone, and within a 100g or so of an Explosif frame.

I will carry on a little I think.

Going to go for a disc and suspension on the front.

Rim brakes on the rear.

I have too many good memories on that frame, its an old friend

Bit of a thread revival, I still have the old Lava Dome, just looking to get a wider bar on it and move it to single speed, any suggestions on the best way to do that keeping the project 2 forks

I once reamed out an old Cindercone seat-tube so a 27.2 would fit, the lower level frames had a bit of meat on them and it didn't need alot of work to get it to fit.
