...it's absolutely Altitude built, 1997 range spec but with a completely unique hybrid "custom" livery :shock:

There’s another that is a 19” Stars as well that is HT123. I think that’s in America now, although Haggis and Wadsy both owned it, and it needed a repair at the dropout at some stage.

I assume you mean ‘97 paint job and ‘96 decals by custom livery? It looks fantastic by the way!

Firstly I've never seen this take on the flames before; a sort of stars n bars flames.

Secondly, as you point out, the use of 1996 decals this late in the Altitude story could mean a few things. My thinking is it was specifically made to order, someone requested it like this. Or, they ran out of 97 decals and grabbed what they had to hand. We'll never know but it definitely works for me

As ever I'd love to know what you and everyone else think.

Yeah, the Stars colours in the flame style works very well, I really like it.

Is the blue the same as the Caldera blue?

They changed cable routing mid '96 so you can get '96 Kona with v brake stop and top front mech routing

That's true for some models. Just to be clear for this example, it was built in November 1996 so it's clearly in the 1997 production window.

ok, not really the same as your Hot - but almost - I have that frame tucked away for some years now, and as I' getting older, I did not remember that well
