Finally finished - as much as the onza pinky/red barends were kinda period I couldn't find them agreeable to my eyes. I've stuck some halfords jobbies on that are incredibly comfy and blend in a bit better.
Quick spin out with the kids down the seafront - gears changes are really nice, need to adjust the front brakes as they are offset and the tyre rubs a little. The bearing in the pedals are shot, have seen some very similar style on ebay which I'll purchase at some point.
Slightly tarted up with stx-rc groupset (nicked mainly off the Y3), battered xt seatpost and rear mech. Some period easton stuff I had sat in the shed drops the front end it's perfect for a bike for pottering with the family.
