kona explosif or not?

 love how its also turned into a debate on "ribs"
i dont think they were nammed after human ribs, it just means raised lines in any direction :)

what are you planning on doing with the frame? if you are going to restore it to its original paint/model then why dont you just strip it and check the numbers?

unmounted to clean and grease everything. I will mount this bike for my girlfriend and asked her if she wanted painting it and she answered liking like that in red and said no painting for the moment. So the idea for the moment is to clean everything and mount her a nice bike to practice (even if it was for me I would restore/repaint to its initial model)

To compare...
My 94'-18'explosif weigh 1850g
My 94'-17'kilauea a bit more of 2kg
;)

Cheers

Thanks for the info, so it could be the kilauea (even if I have a doubt about determining the size, it seems higher than 17', and closer to a 17.5' exactly)

Re:

They're different frames to the '94s though. You shouldn't compare really

A 1993 frame would be measured from teh centre of the bottom bracket shell, up to the very top of the seat tueb (along the seat tube)
There was no 17" frame.

What is the length of just the seat tube to the very top? (as in from the top off the bottom bracket shell, and what is the head tube length ?

If it is measuring ~17.5" centre of bb to top of tube, then it is 16" in a 1992 model iirc, which is a product they made. That also means it's an Explosif.

It could be but what about the weight? a 16" frame a bit more than 2 kg?

here all the measured dimensions (in comas the inch conversion):

I measured from the centre of bb to top of tube (45,5 cm, i.e. 17,9"), could it be a 18" frame? :O

Re:

18" if that's your measurment.
about 18" is quite different to 17 to 17.5" :)

Stays are measured way too long for some reason.
